HollandMT and FKAB launch new Backhoe Pontoon design

At Europort 2009, HollandMT and FKAB proudly announce their newly developed range of backhoe pontoon dredgers, named the Dredge-X range. The name has been derived from eXcellent eXcavator dredging.

The new range is setup to provide worldwide dredge and marine contractors with a reliable and tailor made excavator dredging solution. This dredge concept provides the best synergy of superior and proven excavator technology by Liebherr and first class dredge pontoon design by marine engineering specialist FKAB and dredge engineering specialist HollandMT.

The new range of backhoe pontoon dredgers is based on the Liebherr pontoon excavator range P9800, P995, P9400, P9250 & P984. To meet present dredging demands, HollandMT and FKAB have also incorporated the latest line of electric powered Liebherr excavators including the powerful P9800 (800 ton machine). The hydraulic system in the excavator is powered by low maintenance AC-electric motors. Electric power is provided by the power plant which is installed in a dedicated engine-room inside the pontoon. The power plant also provides power to hydraulic power packs for the spud hoisting & mooring system, auxiliary systems and the optional propulsion system.
The pontoon and ship's systems are designed in such way, allowing any specialized shipyard to easily fabricate, launch, commission and test the pontoon. Only after completion, the excavator will be mounted, electrically connected and prepared for final dredging tests.

HollandMT receives engineering contract for TSHD

Woerden, September 10th

HollandMT proudly announces the contract award for supply of a design package for a newly built trailing suction hopper dredger for a North African customer.
The dredge will be designed in accordance with customer requirements and shall be suitable for inshore operations as well as coastal works. The challenge for this TSHD design is to optimize the performance for both port & river maintenance as well as for sand recovery and beach replenishment works.
The design package shall be completed before the end of this year.

Cooperation with Wear And Tear Solutions BV

Holland Dredge Parts BV, a business unit of HollandMT, has signed a cooperation agreement with Wear & Tear Solutions BV to mutually develop a new range of improved ball joints for the dredging industry.
Special requirements from the end user, such as improved strength, safer working conditions and improved environmental footprint will be combined in the new design, together with new possibilities in the casting technology

W&TS is a Roosendaal (Netherlands) based company specialized in providing dedicated design, improvements and manufacturing solutions for wear & tear related products in the dredging industry. W&TS is a division of the Timro Group and is managed by Wout Tims who has a long track record in supplying wear parts to the dredging industry. The first results of this new cooperation will be integrated in the design of a 25" ball joint, for which HollandMT has recently received a supply contract from the Canadian based company FRPD.

The ball joints for FRPD will be manufactured by HollandMT ‘s partner Jinyang pipe fittings Ltd. and are scheduled for delivery in September this year.

Gate valve co-operation

Wuxi,23rd February 2009: to further serve the dredging industry with quality components and products, HollandMT has signed a co-operation agreement with Jinyang Co. Ltd. Form Wuxi to mutually develop,  manufacture and promote  gate valves for the global dredging industry.

Jinyang Co. Ltd. is the main supplier of gate valves to the Chinese dredging industry and has a proven track record lasting more than 30 years.

In addition to the mechanical gate valve expertise, Jinyang Co. Ltd. also has extensive know how regarding the sealing technology  enabling Jinyang Co. ltd. to design and manufactures a variation of rubber seals in accordance with customer specification.

Gate valves can be delivered for pipe diameters from 300 to 1400 mm, in high, medium and low pressure versions and can be custom designed and dimensioned to fit your specific gate valve needs.

The new range of gate valves is designed, manufactured and tested in accordance with highest dredging industry standards.
